Cryotherapy is the practice of applying extreme cold to the skin for surgical or medicinal purposes. It works by using the CryoPen to deliver a very fine dose of nitrous oxide gas at the site of the plantar wart. The gas has a temperature of -89 degrees Celsius that completely freezes the afflicted tissue, thus destroying any harmful cells associated with the virus.

Treatments are fast, comfortable and effective. In most cases, the body develops an immune reaction to the treatment, preventing any future outbreaks of verrucae (warts).

Is cryotheray painful?

The treatment can be mildly painful for a few seconds and feel similar to having an ice cube pressed against your skin. This discomfort is momentary and usually subsides within seconds.
